Agreements

No commission is confirmed until a written agreement is signed and the initial payment is received. Published starting investments are minimums, not quotations.

Payment

Payment is structured across signing and production milestones as set out in your agreement. Third-party production and vendor costs are quoted and invoiced separately where noted.

Timelines

Published timelines are typical ranges measured from the completion of discovery and approval of composition. Delays caused by late approvals, fittings, or client-supplied materials extend the schedule.

Alterations and remakes

Alterations within the agreed scope are included through delivery. Remakes caused by changes in client requirements, body measurements after final fitting, or new direction are quoted separately.

Cancellation and refunds

Because work is made to order, the initial payment secures design time and production capacity and is non-refundable once composition begins. Amounts paid against materials or partner production already committed are non-refundable. Any remaining balance not yet committed is refunded on written cancellation.

Production partners

Work is designed and creatively directed by Dr. Lucas, then produced with selected atelier and specialist partners under the house's quality standards.

Shipping and customs

Deliveries are insured and shipped from Chicago. Duties, taxes, and customs charges for international delivery are the client's responsibility.

Intellectual property

You own your garment and the personal materials you provide. Dr. Lucas retains authorship of the designs, patterns, drawings, and house marks, including the right to reuse design language in future work.

Confidentiality

Client identities, stories, and materials are treated as confidential and are published only under a recorded permission selection.

Website terms

Site content and imagery are the property of Dr. Lucas and may not be reproduced without permission, except approved press imagery credited “Courtesy of Dr. Lucas.” The site is provided as is, without warranty.
