Engagements
What does a commission cost?
Private narrative garments begin at $750. Wedding wardrobe creative direction (coordinated details, not garments) begins at $1,250, and wedding design direction at $2,000. A completed bespoke bridal gown with a coordinated groom suit or tuxedo starts with couple concept packages from $5,000, $10,000 or $20,000, each a tailored proposal. Family story commissions begin at $1,500. Brand and cultural collaborations begin at $2,000. Selected individual design and garment scopes typically fall between $750 and $2,000; the final quote depends on materials and services.
Does a bespoke bridal gown cost $750?
Not usually. $750 is the entry point for selected individual pieces. A full bespoke bridal gown is quoted per commission according to design, cloth, embellishment and fittings.
What are the $5,000, $10,000 and $20,000 couple packages?
Our flagship couple campaign, His & Hers. The True Story., brings together two people, one shared narrative, with individually designed bridal and groom looks and a shirt where scoped. The Pair begins at $5,000, The Ceremony at $10,000 and The Signature at $20,000. Each is a starting point for a tailored proposal, not a fixed product; inclusions, deposit and timeline are confirmed in writing.
How do I choose between an individual piece and a couple package?
If you need one garment — a suit, tuxedo, shirt or gown — inquire about an individual piece. If you want both of your looks designed as one story, choose His & Hers on the inquiry form.
How long does the work take?
Timelines depend on design, complexity and fittings, and are set in each written proposal rather than guaranteed in advance. Share your date early; rush timelines are accepted only when the schedule allows.
How is a project confirmed?
No project is confirmed until an agreement and initial payment are completed.
Making
Is everything made in-house?
Design and creative direction belong to House of Dr. Lucas. Specialist production and fitting support are assessed per brief; the network is exploratory, not evidence of contracted capacity. Production arrangements are confirmed in the tailored proposal.
How many fittings are required?
Fitting arrangements, measurement support and any travel are confirmed in your tailored proposal.
Do you offer alterations or remakes?
Alterations within the agreed scope are included through delivery. Remakes are quoted separately and depend on cause and timing.
Working together
Do you work outside Chicago?
Yes. The house works globally. Travel and accommodation for on-location fittings are quoted separately.
How is shipping handled internationally?
International delivery is insured and shipped from Chicago. Duties, taxes, and customs charges are the client's responsibility.
Can my commission stay private?
Yes. You may select public, anonymous, imagery approved with name withheld, or fully private. Nothing is published without recorded permission.
